What I Do
Many small businesses are struggling to find reasons to do much more with the web than put up a site and add some email addresses.
The reasons for this may be financial or may be because it’s hard to see what the web can add. I’ve talked at length with many business owners who feel that their company simply has nothing to gain from investing in anything to do with the web.
Let me state my position bluntly: the number of businesses who would reap no benefit from enhancing their web presence is probably between 0 and 1.
Here’s how Robert Scoble puts in a recent blog post:
It really pisses me off when I try to find a business on Google and they don’t even have a web site. That’s just not excusable anymore in today’s business world. But it also gets me sad when I see businesses that haven’t improved their sites beyond 1994. If your site was last updated with Microsoft FrontPage you aren’t keeping up.
Of course, using the internet to improve your business is not just about having an up to date web site.
That’s Where I Come In
I’ll spend time – free of charge – talking to you and your colleagues and learning about your business. Then I’ll propose a web strategy that fits your business objectives.
You can then choose to implement the strategy – in part or as a whole – or thank me and show me the door. My findings and proposal remain strictly confidential, of course.
Should you wish to put the strategy into action, I’ll spend as much or as little time as you want helping to make it happen – and charge accordingly. My experience and network means I can easily find people skilled in everything you may need from web site design to setting up an intranet or e-commerce payment gateways. But I’m equally happy to work with people you choose or already have in house.
What I Won’t Do
- Try to bamboozle you with jargon.
- Tell you to use new technology for the sake of it.
- Make myself indispensable.
- Convince you to pay over the odds for better than excellent service.
Call me or email me now if you have a sneaking suspicion that your business is missing a trick with the web.
